Psychology is my vocation because when my call came, just like all the greats, I ignored it for years and propelled myself into everything else. Once I had enough running and denying myself peace, love, grace (the good stuff) I surrendered. My values remain the same, if you don’t love yourself more than you both fear and hate yourself how can you ever expect anything to work out? If your therapist is not addressing underlying issues then you’ll be in therapy forever. Great for the therapist; bad for you. Why? Because they are doing nothing to address repressed material, the actual source of your distress which has surfaced as addiction, depression, codependence, anxiety, low self-esteem, narcissism, relationship issues, etc.
